| 内容記述 | 戦時下における日本放送協会のテレビジョン開発は、達成目標とされた東京オリンピックこそ霧消したものの、東京市内における実験放送を実現させた。実験局から発射された電波は、百貨店で開催された国策展覧会で頻繁に受像され、人気を博した。本稿では、皇紀二六〇〇年奉祝記念という時局における、テレビジョンに仮託されたモダニズムとナショナリズムの相克のありようを、実験放送の仔細を分析することを通じて解明した。こうして戦後の「テレビ」への伏線を明らかにすることで、いわゆる「街頭テレビ」の起源神話をくつがえすことが、本稿の企図である。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Before the Pacific War, the engineers of Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) had developed television technology toward the objective of the broadcast coverage of the 1940 Tokyo Olympics. Although the Olympics was called off, they accomplished the experimental television broadcasting in Tokyo in 1939. The airwave from the laboratory was often received at the exhibition spaces of department store, at which it was open to the public as main attraction of several national events. This paper presents detailed particulars of the television experimental broadcasting from 1939 to 1940. Particularly in 1940, that is, 2600 of the Imperial Era, the experimental broadcasting was relevant to the celebration in honor of the reigns of emperors. Through that, it explains the arbitration process between "modernism" and "nationalism" surrounding television technology. | |||||
