| 内容記述 | The idea of using drug carriers to improve the therapeutic efficacy of pharmacological agents is receiving increasing attention as possible clinical applications. Attachment of drugs to macromolecular carriers alters their rate of excretion from the body and provides the possibility for sustained release over a prolonged period. Moreover, it limits the uptake of drug by cells to the process of endocytosis, thus providing the opportunity to direct the drug to the particular cell type where its activity is required. In this article the consequences of the attachment of pharmaceuticals to macromolecular carriers are demonstrated through our challenges in which polysaccharides, biological macromolecules such as albumin and transferrin, and synthetic polymers are used as carriers. | |||||
