内容記述 | The current study reports how Japanese EFL learners' self-reflection was promoted through writing a language learning journal. The study used two types of language learning journals: one with more closed-ended questions and the other with more open-ended questions. Both types of language learning journals enabled EFL learners to reflect upon their language learning, set goals for their learning, and enhance their learning motivation. However, the open-ended questions type of journal was more effective. The study also found that it was more difficult for learners with low English proficiency to reflect upon their learning activities in terms of describing their learning problems or finding learning strategies. This may be because they do not have enough metacognitive knowledge or skills they can use. |
