The paper classifies the reasons of degradations. Two detection procedures, a priori and a posteriori, are applied to degraded image detection. A priori procedure is to single out them by ellipse fitting and a posteriori procedure is to detect them by so-called three-sigma criterion on residuals after adjustment.
