Then, in this paper, the size effect of architecture and engineering works is examined based on the study in the past. In addition, the examination policy in the future for the establishments of a common shear design method in architecture and engineering works is described. Three expressions of Terai and Minami expression, the Civil Engineering academy expression, and Ono and Arakawa expression were used to know the difference of the experiment value and the theory value. The relation between the shear strength and the section size of each experiment series was shown, reduced factor ku concerning the size effect of Ono and Arakawa expression was substituted for the Civil Engineering academy expression βd, and the relation was examined. As a result, the Civil Engineering academy expression has adaptability with the experiment value, and It was able to be confirmed that the examination was necessary about Ono, Arakawa expression, and Terai, Minami expression. The decrease in shearing unit stress will be forecast to the section of about 3000mm in the future.
