Wooden columns width of which is 105mm or 120mm are used in traditional Japnese wooden houses. If the the corners of this square section are properly cut, the cross sectional area is increased, namely, sectional area of hexagonal or octagonal shape section inscribed in a circle with same diameter is larger than that of squared one. It is also true that the cross cut square has larger sectional area than simple square section. Cross shaped columns has not only large sectional area but alos sectional moment of second order. So, we can get stronger columns from the raw wood having same size of diameter. The corners of the cross shaped columns will be used to fasten structural panel with nails and they can resist horizontal force effectively, because the cross shaped columns constrain relative displacemennt between columns and panel board.}, pages = {21--28}, title = {十字型断面を持つ柱で構成された木造軸組みの水平耐力特性について}, volume = {26}, year = {2002} }
