Beam pattern and the distribution of the intensity of the laser on a plane that is more than ten-meter distant from the light source is disturbed by the atmospheric turbulence. The wind blowing across the optical path moves the disturbed pattern and the intensity of the laser beam is scintillated on a point of the plane. The proposed system filters out a spatial frequency of the disturbed beam pattern and monitors the wind velocity and direction.
