The idea of this method is as follows: When an electric discharge is generated in the flowfield where a temperature distribution exists, not only a radiation intensity, but also a radiation spectrum differs according to the gas temperature. Therefore, the temperature distribution is obtainable by taking a color photograph of the electric discharge.
