内容記述 | Increasing efforts have been devoted to developments of devices for optical signal processing. Among those, optical bistable devices (OBD's) are key devices for many applications. They are further classified into two groups by a type of an incorporated feedback. One is all-optical or "hybrid" type. Intrinsic devices generally employ a Fabry-Perot resonator containing a nonlinear tnedium inside, and optical feedback is applied to the medium. Hybrid-type devices are based on the principle that electric signals proportional to the optical are fed back to an electrooptic crystal which shows nonlinear refraction. In either cases, a feedback is necessary for optical bistability. Hybrid OBD's are expected to be useful in an optoelectronic system where optical signals co-operate with electric ones. Intrinsic devices of small sized semiconductor devices are appreciated in a pure-optical signal processing where a ultra-fast switching capability is prerequisite. In this paper, a new light-pulse monitoring and its hybrid synthesizer for picosecond optomultivibrator are proposed. These devices have a temporal resolution of less than 500 picosecond. These devices employ opto-electronic switch of GaAs and another, of Si as photodetectors. That enables the device to work faster than conventional hybrid devices with photodiode array. As a preliminary experiment, optical-pulse was shaped for a dye laser pulse 3ns and Si OE switches only without GaAs ones. | |||||
