In this paper, the physio-chemical properties of this kind of landslide are dealt with in the relation between the slip layer and the soil component. It is well known that the clay mineral whose main mineral is montmorillonite exists along the slip layer in the landslide. Tertiary type landslide is consisted of quarts, feldspar and montmorillonite as main components. The place of the slip layer is confirmed from the deformation pipes with strain gages.
