The larvae were sedimented at rates of 0.2-1.2 cm/sec according to the Stokes'formula. A buret with 80 cm length (50 ml) was not sufficient to fractionate a mixture of the larvae with 90-300μm shell height because of a shortage of sedimentation distance, but a glass tube with 130 cm length was satisfactory. A problem of this fractionation method seems to be that some fractions were contaminated with the larvae with different size.
