In pencyclic reaction, the microwave irradiation has been used for Diels-Alder reaction and Claisen rearrangement. However, the application to the electorocyclic reaction has not been reported yet. We describe here the new synthetic method of the isoquinoline nucleus based on the microwave-assisted thermal electrocychc reaction of 1-azahexatnene system involving the benzene double bond.
