A same questionnaire that measures children's abilities to avoid crime was administered to elementary school pupils before and after their participations to making the local safety maps. Results showed that the mapping activity improved their crime-avoiding ability, communication skills, levels of attachment to the local community, and their delinquency prevention ability. The dangerous and safety places that the children had selected during the mapping activity were rated by 41 undergraduates and the scores were correspondent to the categorizations by pupils. Moreover, presentations of the pictures categorized as dangerous place significantly increased 8 undergraduates' diastolic blood pressures compared to the pictures of safety place. These results suggest that the validity of the educational power of the local safety mapping activity and it makes children discriminate between dangerous and safety places in their neighborhood. Finally, it was argued that the future crime preventive education should be discussed from the standpoint of the necessity of "significant others."}, pages = {35--42}, title = {地域安全マップの作製とその効果測定}, volume = {1}, year = {2007} }
