Participants were 64 fifth grade students. They solved 14 problems, each of which contained either two or three types of information, out of four types of information about two traveling persons: distance, speed, starting time, and arrival time. The participants judged which person traveled for a longer duration. The results are discussed from the perspective of understanding the relationship between two types of knowledge regarding duration: "duration=arrival time-starting time" and "duration=distance/speed".},
