| 内容記述 | Objective and Significance ; One college of higher education in the field of Humanism and Socio-Economics was being operated in Beijing at the end of World War II. However, though a book of reminiscences has been published, no history of the college has ever been written. By utilizing graduates' memoirs heavily, the present writer plans to clarify the process of higher education in Beijing in those days with special reference to Akira Nakanome, President of Ko-a College. In accordance with a request to assume the presidency of Ko-a College in Beijing, Akira NAKANOME, ex-President of the Foreign Language College of Osaka, moved form Osaka to Beijing on March 1, 1940. He was expected to reorganize the Chinese Language School to raise it from the status of a higher commerereial school to that of a college by college regulations. Hypothesis and Keywords ; The College of Higher Education in the Field of Humanism and Socio-Economics for Japanese in Beijing was founded and developed by Akira Nakanome. The Chinese Language School was reorganized to raise its status to become Beijing Ko-a College. Nakanome, President -cum-trustee, dealt with determination to shape-up and reform the subject organization and to reframe college regulations. Promotion of the College status was approved. Two affiliated institutions, Central College of Japanese Language and Research Institute of Japanese Language, were also organized and systematized by Nakanome, leading to remarkable development in a phonetically-based kana system and teaching methods. Nakanome's period of service was overwhelmingly long and of significance in the history of Beijing Ko-a College and the renamed Beijing College of Economics. | |||||
