| 内容記述 | This paper analyzes foreign assets held by Japanese mutual funds in the quarter century since the “Big Bang” reforms of the late 1990s were fully implemented. In comparing the proportion of foreign assets held in each country to each country’s financial market size it identifies five example of a 5% or more under- or over-allocation to a specific country: Over-allocation at various times in Europe, Brazil, Australia, and the US, and under-allocation in China. The over-allocation examples in Europe, Brazil, and Australia were temporary and investment in those three currencies has returned to appropriate levels. But a large overallocation to USD assets and a somewhat large under-allocation of CNY assets persists, suggesting the need for further financial literacy education in Japan. | |||||||
