          <dc:description>The demand to use high strength and high performance material because of large span and high rise of building in recent years. As to use of high-strength steel in composite steel and reinforced concrete structures, it remains to be clarified whether the ductile behavior can be ensured, especially when the high-strength steel is used in combination with high-strength concrete. This paper describes the arch mechanism and the truss mechanism by using the technique of the plastic analysis as a shearing resistance mechanism of the SRC column. In addition, The result of the experiment which uses full scale specimen is described, and the size effect is considered, and the size effect influenced it. Ultimate shear strength of SRC column was well predicted by using the technique of the plastic analysis.</dc:description>
