Then it is possible to represent the hydrologic process as a discrete-time dynamical system, which consists of a pair of state equation (tank model) and observation equation (water balance). A systemtheoretic state estimation method is applied to the dynamical system in order to estimate unobservable internal states of the cycle on the basis of・ observed output data.
